Fourth of July Festival at Lanterman Developmental Center

Grandma Leslie organizes a huge Fourth of July festival every year at her work, complete with games and rides for the kids and a huge firework show at night Yesterday's festivities were bitter sweet. This was the last year since the center will be closing. We had a fun day visiting with grandma, and spending time with cousins and aunties!!

Our First Family Photos

A few weeks ago we had family photos taken. Our first set of professional photos. Thank you M.K. Photography for the beautiful photos!

5 Months

Today Amelia turned 5 months old. I can't believe how fast the time is going by. She is a very chatty baby. Loves looking at herself in the mirror and talking to herself..LOL. She smiles all the time and laughs when something is really hysterical to her. She can roll from her stomach to her back, but can't quite roll from her back to her stomach, she gets about halfway and then gives up. She starting eating solid foods. We started her on avocados. She loves them. She smiles and gets excited when I put her in the hi-chair. She smiles when she sees the spoon coming and opens her mouth in anticipation of whats to come. Its too cute!! This milestone also marks the end of my maternity leave. I will be back to the working world and reality this Sunday. I am so thankful to Daniel who will take care of Amelia at night while I work (Best dad ever!), and to family who will be watching her when our schedules overlap.

I ate a solid, and I liked it...!

Our lactation consultant said that Amelia was showing signs that she may be ready for solids! She also said that we didn't have to start with cereal. We decided to start with avacados since the are a complete food, giving Amelia good nutrients and healthy fats which she needs to help boost her weight. So today for the first time she ate mashed up avacados in mommys milk. I think she liked it. She ate it all! Num num num!!

Traveling Baby

Amelia has been traveling early. She's already been on 2 plane flights! I didn't have this blog then but I wanted to post pictures of all the fun she's had. First trip she went on was to Washington D.C. to see Uncle Sean for the first time. We got to meet mommy's friend Priya, and Auntie Debbie, and she met daddy's friend Yesi. Grandma also came out to Washington D.C. to spend time with all of us. Amelia had a blast visiting all the monuments, museums, and going to Uncle Sean's soccer game.
